NANJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A new cargo air route was launched Tuesday, linking eastern Chinese cities with Singapore, as a way to support work resumption after the novel coronavirus outbreak, said an airport.

The route service is operated by SF Airlines with its largest B747-400ERF aircraft every Tuesday, according to Sunan Shuofang International Airport in the city of Wuxi, eastern China's Jiangsu Province.

The flight is opened as many local clients hope to export raw materials and electronic equipment to Singapore, said Zhong Weiqiang, responsible for international freight forwarding of SF's international business department.

"The airport will strictly manage the shipment process including taking quarantine measures, and the airline crew are required to abide by the epidemic prevention protocols," said Zhou Xiaohong, deputy general manager of a logistics company affiliated with the airport.
